Marine conservation in Hong Kong

Hoi Ha Wan tour

The English Town team at the WWF Marine Life centre

On the 19th September, Living Seas took a group of 34 English students from English Town to the Hoi Ha Wan marine park.

We were lucky enough to have a tour conducted by  WWF Hong Kong.  WWF introduced us to the shore line ecosystem and then we were shown around the WWF marine life centre.  The highlight of the tour was a trip on WWF’s glass bottom boat over two areas of corals in Hoi Ha Wan.

A great day out, even though we were subjected to a minor heat wave of 34c ++ and a lot of water was drunk and everyone came away from the event having learnt a lot about Hong Kong marine parks, the issues they face and what are the proposed solutions.

We would like to thank WWF for their hospitality and the professionalism of their team at Hoi Ha Wan.
