「勃勃海洋」及「世界自然基金會」將於今年四月中及五月初聯合舉辦有關替代生計的研討會。
Living Seas and WWF are jointly organising an alternative livelihood workshop in mid April and early May 2011.
我們相信，禁止拖網捕魚最終會有助釋放本港近岸海域的所有潛能。香港可以利用漁民的現有技能，創造新的海洋相關經濟及工作機會。這些議題仍有待進一步深入探討。我們會邀請有相同見解的僱主出席研討會，探討實現這些機會的可能性，以及聽取他們支持這一計劃的意見。
We believe that the trawl ban will finally start to unlock the full potential of our coastal waters. There are opportunities for Hong Kong to create marine-related economic opportunities and new jobs utilizing the existing skills of fishers, which have yet to be explored in depth. We are inviting potential job providers who share the same vision to attend the workshop, and explore the practicalities of realizing such opportunities, as well as to share ideas on how they may support this cause.
受邀請出席研討會的嘉賓包括立法會議員、政府官員、有潛力的僱主及漁業代表，目的是讓有關人士進行坦誠的討論和對話。
We are inviting legislators, government officials, potential employers and fisheries groups to attend. The aim will be to have an open conversation and dialogue.
我們知道，只有當漁民獲得真正可持續發展的替代生計，禁止拖網捕魚才有望成功。我們亦明白，必須得到公眾的廣泛支持，才能確保立法會議員全力支持禁止拖網捕魚計劃。
We know that only when the fishermen have a real ongoing alternative livelihood will we be confident that the trawling ban will be successful. We also need to be aware that wide community support is needed to ensure that legislators are fully supporting the ban.
