The Legco panel on environmental affairs met on the 21st January 2009 to discuss the proposed ban on commercial fishing in marine parks (amongst other items)

We await formal confirmation about the findings of this meeting but initial indications are that the panel have concerns about the effect on fishermen’s livelihood that have not been adequately answered.
We aren’t yet down the finishing straight on this and there are still many hurdles to jump over
